Kazanlak, a city in the centre of the Rose Valley, is known for its traditional Rose Festival which is held every year during the first    weekend in June. This festival  originates from the celebrations held at the beginning of the rose-harvesting period.
The air humidity, cloudiness and precipitation in May and June contributed to obtain roses yielding high percentage of oil, and oil of     superior quality. The Bulgarian oleaginous rose yields 70 percent of the world's attar of roses used by every well-known perfume  company as an essential component of its products.
 The first rose festival in Kazanlak took place in 1903. Few years later, a similar fest was organized in the town of Karlovo, situated in   the same area. The electing of Queen Rose, the harvesting ritual in the rose gardens and the parade along the streets of the town are  the most interesting events during the festival.

The Rila Mountain - Lying in the south west of Bulgaria, 60 miles (100 km) south of Sofia, the Rila Mountain with their beautiful rugged landscape have so much to offer! The Rilas’ numerous peaks tower over 2500m with the highest of them, Musala, reaching nearly (2925m). Among them, more than 200 mountains lakes can be found in great heights, together with diverse wild life and over 2000 different plants. This region also boasts Bulgaria’s most famous monastery – the Rila Monastery, and the country’s oldest winter resort Borovetz.

STARA PLANINA (THE BALKAN RANGE)

The largest and biggest mountain chain, crossing the entire country. The 700 km long mountain range is the backbone of Bulgaria. Stara Planina is ideal for hiking tours, biking, rock climbing and cave exploring, equally attractive to tourist and mountaineers.
The Balkan range boasts many peaks, its highest peak “Botev” (2376 m).
Near by peak “Botev” are many wonderful waterfalls, including Bulgarian highest waterfall “Raiskoto Praskalo” (120 m),
The Balkan Range holds 31 nature reserves.
You will also visit many beautiful museum, medieval monasteries, villages and National Revival towns.
